A house planned around views west toward the city rather than the more common approach of shielding from them.

Most houses on this street turn their backs to the road and close off the western facade to manage heat gain. We took the opposite approach here — deep overhangs and a secondary shading screen let the main living spaces keep the view while still controlling afternoon sun.
